iPhone 4 Connectivity Issues

Many iPhone 4 users are reporting connectivity issues, where they suffer from complete or partial service loss (losing bars). Apple has responded to this by saying that this is a known issue and it is caused by how the user holds the iPhone. They also said that other Smartphones also have this issue with how the user holds the phone and the issue for the iPhone can be resolved by either purchasing one of the many available cases, or by holding the phone a certain way ("...avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band...") This is because the outer metal band that "frames" the phone is actually the two it's two antennas and how you're holding them/making contact with them can cause issues. However, some consumers are demanding a recall and see this as an unacceptable "fix" to the issue.
