The Entertainment Industry - Out of Ideas?

Has the entertainment industry done everything possible. Every year people claim that the television, gaming, and movie industry has run out of ideas, but they usually pull through with a bunch of new ideas. However, many of these new ideas now just seem to be the same concept in different genres. For example, if there is a movie about capturing a criminal to get back a police officer's badge (or whatever) then it may be in a few different movies with very little differences other than some take it seriously and others make it into a comedy. Other signs of this lack of ideas comes in the form of remakes. We saw it first with the television series Knight Rider, and now with 90210, and Hawaii Five-O. These remakes are in no way bad, however, it may be evidence that we are looking to the past for ideas that have been used over and over again. Almost every movie now seems to have a cliche plot and the only movies that really mess with people's minds are psychological thrillers that are just so over the top that there is no way that they could run out of ideas. We need to start thinking of new ideas, and fast. Otherwise this lack of ideas could create a serious issue in all things entertainment. It hasn't hit the gaming industry too hard yet, due to the fact that many games are over the top and different art styles keep people engaged, as well as the new motion controllers that are coming out. However, surely game developers will slowly start running out of ideas. The evidence: the massive amount of sequels, trilogies, and sagas that are being released all based off one core idea.
