The Entertainment Industry - Out of Ideas?

Has the entertainment industry done everything possible. Every year people claim that the television, gaming, and movie industry has run out of ideas, but they usually pull through with a bunch of new ideas. However, many of these new ideas now just seem to be the same concept in different genres. For example, if there is a movie about capturing a criminal to get back a police officer's badge (or whatever) then it may be in a few different movies with very little differences other than some take it seriously and others make it into a comedy. Other signs of this lack of ideas comes in the form of remakes. We saw it first with the television series Knight Rider, and now with 90210, and Hawaii Five-O. These remakes are in no way bad, however, it may be evidence that we are looking to the past for ideas that have been used over and over again. Almost every movie now seems to have a cliche plot and the only movies that really mess with people's minds are psychological thrillers that are just so over the top that there is no way that they could run out of ideas. We need to start thinking of new ideas, and fast. Otherwise this lack of ideas could create a serious issue in all things entertainment. It hasn't hit the gaming industry too hard yet, due to the fact that many games are over the top and different art styles keep people engaged, as well as the new motion controllers that are coming out. However, surely game developers will slowly start running out of ideas. The evidence: the massive amount of sequels, trilogies, and sagas that are being released all based off one core idea.

Don't Having Video Editing Software? Youtube Has It Covered.

Youtube has recently released an online video editor that allows you to edit your most recently uploaded videos. You can sort of cut the videos by dragging playheads to make them shorter and then you can add other videos in. From this editor you can also use the AudioSwap feature that Youtube has had for a while. Unfortunately, the music added with completely overwrite the soundtrack of the video you're editing. However, this online editor is a great alternative for people with slow computer and/or no video editing software. Be sure to check it out!

Does More Features Warrant a Worse Online Community?

This question has been asked by many people who play Modern Warfare 2. At first the vast array of additional features seemed nice. They included things such as Pro Perks, different guns, and various equipment options. However, over time, many gamers have discovered various "exploits" or "cheap methods" of playing the game by combining these new features together to create annoying playing methods (ie using the grenade launcher then getting continual ammo from it by using "One Man Army"). Many people have actually stopped playing this game in order to avoid these annoying people. What should be done about this? Everyone wants more features, but as it seems, it just uncovers more ways to cheat and annoy other people. It actually appears that the better a game is, the worse the online community grows.

Clash of the TItians

I finally got to see the movie Clash of the Titians 2010. Which is a remake of the 1981. I have never seen the 1981 Clash of the Titians but if it is anything like the 2010 one then it will be worth a watch. The acting in Clash of the Titians is grate I could not find one part with any acting that was less then grate. This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat from the start. Every time they go into battle you can not stop hoping that none of the charters die. I really enjoyed the story behind the movie. Of course I do not know much about Greek mythology so the this story could be completely wrong. All I can say is give it a chance if you have not all ready.

Driver: San Fransisco

Driver is back and this time Tanner is "back in action." Presumed dead at the end of DRIV3R, Tanner is now in a coma and has "gained" the amazing new ability called Shift. This ability lets the player switch between cars quickly and easily and missions are also accessed through shifting into various events throughout the city (ie a car chase). Thus far it hasn't been revealed whether you can get out of the car (like in GTA), but the car chases and the new in-car view should make up for it. Check out the preview from E3 below.

Fallout: New Vegas Preview

Fallout: New Vegas is the newest installment in the Fallout series made by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Bethesda. New Vegas features similar gameplay to that of Fallout 3 with a new story and bunch of new features. Some of the new features included are: hardcore mode (a more realistic version of the game where everything has weight, even ammo, and the player must eat, sleep, etc.), weapon mods (the player can customize weapons with various scopes, barrels, stocks, etc.), and new game environment (New Vegas is a fully functioning city, drawing it's electricity from Hoover Damn). The game also features exclusive pre-order bonuses that are unique to the retailer that you pre-order at (Bonuses are seen here). There is also the regular version of the game (just the game itself) and a collector's edition (includes: seven casino chips that represent the casinos from the game, a "Lucky 38 platinum chip, a deck of cards featuring New Vegas character imagery, a hard-cover graphic novel "All Roads", and making of DVD). Fallout: New Vegas will be available on XBox 360, PS3, and PC. (The PC version comes with modding tools that allow you to make your own mods and many websites are already suited towards fallout mods for those of you who just want to use the user-made content).

Black Wii package

The Black Wii package is a fairly good deal. It comes with a Wiimote, Wii Motion Plus, Wii Sports, and Wii Sports Resort for the low cost of 199.99. Plus on top of all that I think that the black Wii looks so much better then the white one. Wii is a the best console for young children and for families looking to became more active together. Be sure to check out the new Wii!

Fable 3 perview

Fable III is third installment of the fable series which promises to bring tons more game-play after the story has end. The main storyline has reported to be only half of what the game has to offer. This game looks to be one of the more promising games of 2010/2011. The release date for this game is set at Oct 26,2010 right now but that could be changed at any anytime!

Check back here to find out more about Fable III and other games like in the close future. I'm also adding  new things to the blog as I find out about them.

Avatar

Avatar is a must buy. Even if not in 3D. This movie is still very visual pleasing. The story is great. The acting is top of the line. This movie is sick  all around .  I would give it a 9.8/10 . If you not seen this movie yet you missing out on a lot!!
It is a must buy!!!

The Kin is Dead!

The new Microsoft/Windows phone, the Kin, is officially "dead." Microsoft has announced that the Kin team is now merging into their Windows Phone 7 team. The Kin was not very successful in sales and it was reported that mere hundreds were sold (although never officially confirmed). Microsoft will still support the few Kin owners, however, new software update releases are still not confirmed.

iPhone 4 Connectivity Issues

Many iPhone 4 users are reporting connectivity issues, where they suffer from complete or partial service loss (losing bars). Apple has responded to this by saying that this is a known issue and it is caused by how the user holds the iPhone. They also said that other Smartphones also have this issue with how the user holds the phone and the issue for the iPhone can be resolved by either purchasing one of the many available cases, or by holding the phone a certain way ("...avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band...") This is because the outer metal band that "frames" the phone is actually the two it's two antennas and how you're holding them/making contact with them can cause issues. However, some consumers are demanding a recall and see this as an unacceptable "fix" to the issue.
